Director LaCasse has opted for elevated American stage English rather than British accents. He draws on some old Le Moyne pals as well as strong people from community theater, and serves the poetry more ably here than we are used to in community theater productions. Among the players who really know how to speak are Syracuse Area Live Theater (SALT) award winners Katharine Gibson (Goneril) and David R. Witanowski (Cornwall), opera singer Bridget Moriarty (Regan) and Todd Quick (Albany), as well as the Le Moyne people Steve Braddock (Kent), Sue Barbour (Gloucester) and Lauren Pisano (Cordelia)….

The bar has been set high for us and we have to consistently raise it. We have a team of professionals who are up to the challenge. This isn’t going to be parachute pants and powdered wigs. I’m focusing on real people with real desires and gruesome hardships. We’ve all been victims of time and we’ve all watched loved ones grow old- everyone can connect with this story. You should come and check it out!” LaCasse said with a laugh. “What have you got to lose?!”Production dates: Fridays and Saturdays, June 8th -23rd at the Catherine Cummings Theatre in Cazenovia at 8:00pm.
CNY Shakespeare presents Anton Chekhov’s The Three Sisters

One weekend only!!Director, Matt Chiorini and his elite cast tackle this hour long adaptation filled with love, lust and loss.

Syracuse, New York, Apr. 18th, 2012– CNY Shakespeare, Central New York’s only pay-what-you-can professional Shakespeare Company, presents Anton Chekhov’s The Three Sisters on May 3 and 4 at 7:00 p.m., and May 6 at 2:00 p.m., at Le Moyne College. After rave reviews and award nominations from his work on Henry Vx7, Matt Chiorini directs his original and fast-paced adaptation. The Three Sisters- This compelling adaptation invites us into the lives of the Prosorov sisters after their father’s death. Chiorini’s cutting and sharp direction take a fresh twist on the Russian classic, providing an entertaining and poignant theater experience accessible to everyone.“Three Sisters’ is the masterpiece of one of the world’s greatest playwrights,” said Chiorini. “By condensing it and stripping it down to its bare bones, we hope to really heighten the immediacy and intimacy of the story, so that the writing and acting can shine through. It’s one of those shows that everyone should experience at some point in their life,” the director said.

There is limited seating available. Please call ahead to make your reservations at the LeMoyne Box Office 315-445-4523. As always, tickets are pay-what-you-can.
